Ship and Pack needs an employee to help with packing, crating, shipping, point-of-sale, and clerical tasks.

• Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 35 pounds throughout the day

• Computer- and Internet-literate
• Ability to type on computer keyboard; minimum 35 words per minute.
• Neat, clean appearance

• Excellent, verifiable references from previous employers
• Non-smoker or absolutely no smoke detectable during working hours
• Demonstrated commitment to the job. Number of hours per week to be negotiated, but that will include 4 1/2 hours on Saturdays and full time plus overtime for 2 weeks during the Christmas season.
• IMPORTANT: Priority will be given to strong, smart, cheerful, reliable individuals. Due
to the nature of the job, we cannot employ anyone with physical, mental, or emotional
problems that would interfere with their duties.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Packing experience
• Experience with shipping: procedures, regulations, software, websites, and companies
• Experience with managing inventory and ordering
• Experience using manual and power tools to build large items
• Point-of-sale software experience
• A good reputation in the community
• Desire to help grow and benefit from the store’s growth and profits
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
• Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 35 pounds throughout the day
• Ability to stand and work for several hours at a time

On-the-job training will be provided for the point-of-sale system, shipping rules and regulations, and other information needed.
A background check will be conducted on the top candidate before hiring.

Salary will start at $10.00 to $16.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Raises are given depending on store profits and employee performance.

Employees who have been with the store for one year receive 1 week’s paid vacation and 1 week’s sick leave. After two years, they receive 2 weeks’ paid vacation and 1 week’s sick leave. We carry workman’s comp insurance. Health insurance assistance MAY be provided after 6 months for OUTSTANDING employees only and depending on store profits.

In return for our employees being flexible about our schedules, we try to give them some flexibility to accommodate education, family responsibilities, and recreation.

Our store operates from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.  No evenings, Sunday, or holiday hours are required unless there are very unusual circumstances.
